Terrible, there are about 300,000,000 people smoking in China, the output of cigarette is 3884 big boxes(1942 billion sticks).
When in developed countries, smoking seems to be bad habit, however, we consider smoking as a tool to communicate with others in China, if you consume low-grade cigarette, and then others will look down upon you. What a pity!
How is that going in your country?

Are there any "smoke-free" areas in China yet?
Here in Florida, U S, all restaurants are now smoke-free. However, in Virginia, a state with a strong tobacco lobby, there are still smoking and non-smoking sections in restaurants. |

Yes, we have some smoke-free spaces, but people sometimes take no care about it . lots of people smoke when they drive, then they throw the filters out of their cars' windows, that's what Chinese do, how sad, i am Chinese, though i don't smoke.
the prices of cigarettes in China could be from 1.5RMB(=0.188 US dollar) to 200RMB(=25 US dollars) per pack, many are very cheap, so too many people can afford to it; many are very expensive, so they represent your wealth.
what's the price in the USA?

that's true. i don't smoke, but i bought some cartons of cigarette to my dear father, i am sorry, but it is a good way to show my love and respect to him. that's the Chinese way.

Thanks for your correcting.Now I know one pack contain 20 sticks,but I don't know how to say ten packs which they are packed in one small box in chinese tobacco industry.Who can tell me? |

It is called one carton, which contains 10 packs of cigarettes.
