Please help! I'm assuming A is correct because "last year" seems like an adverbial phrase modifying the gerund, "predicting," but I may just be wrong. Thank you~!
A. Contrary to analysts' predicting last year that S + V, S+ V.
B Contrary to analysts' predictions last year that S + V, S + V. |

.
I see nothing wrong with either A or B, though the -ing as noun is normally the second choice if a standard noun form is available, making B preferable.
