There is this person who is 9 years old than me. So is it okay to say that she's a few *milestones *ahead of me.

Thanks

It depends. In people's lives, milestones are the big events that we go through. If this person has completed a few miestones that you have not, then it would be a very creative - yet natural - thing to say. You'd be easily understood.

Some common milestones:

Baby's first word
Baby's first step
First day of school
Graduating high school
Graduating college
First job
Major promotion
Getting Married
Buying first home
Having first child
First grandchild
Any big event like that is a milestone.

In my opinion, that wouldn't qualify. True, it's a big thing that could be called life-changing, as the other items on the list usually are. But falling in love usually is an evolving thing. You couldn't identify the date that you were in love for the first time. So for that reason, I'd say no. Even so, others might feel that it is a milestone.
