What does the sentence 'There goes the phone" mean?
Do "here" and "there" totally have the same usage?
For example, "Here comes the bus", "There goes the car",
"Here it is.", "There she is."
"Here(There) + V + N"
"Here(There) +pron +V"
Thanks a lot. |

What does the sentence 'There goes the phone" mean?
The phone is ringing.
Do "here" and "there" totally have the same usage? No, although sometimes the usage can seem similar.
For example, "Here comes the bus", "There goes the car", The bus is APPROACHING, but the car is going away.
"Here it is.", "There she is." I see it. I see her (over there).
"Here(There) + V + N" There is the bus. There goes a train. There's an eagle! There is my friend. Here comes Karen. Here's my house. (Don't forget the article or possessive pronoun unless you have a proper noun.)
"Here(There) +pron +V" Yes. There they are. Here he comes.
Thanks a lot. |
