In western menu, i came across the following item:
house salad/fruit salad/tomato salad.
Please tell me which kind of salad can be called "house salad"?
Thanks

Hey -
A house salad is lettuce and other raw veggies like carrots, cucumber, tomatos. Usually you would then get a choice of salad dressing, too.

It means the typical or signature salad of that restaurant, made in that restaurant's style. Every restaurant's house salad is a little different.
House dressing and house wine are other terms you see on restaurant menus. |
