Get up early, or you will be late for school.
Hurry up, or you will be late for the class.
Follow this tips, and you will be safe.
Get up early, and you won't be late for work.
Q1:Do we always have to put a comma(,) before and/or?
Q2:If there is no comma before and/or, are these sentences still right?
Or we have different explainations without a comma in these sentences.
Thank you |

Hi!
The commas are used because the conjunctions are joining two independant clauses/sentences.
Are they always needed? I teach my students that they are always needed. Will you see shorter combined sentences without commas? Yes.
My advice is to use the commas with conjuctions that are joining tow sentences.
Hope that helps - Kristi _________________ "That man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much." R.L. Stevenson |
