1. She is a good person, but she is insensitive to others' feelings.
What are other ways of saying that?
2. If I bought that halter top, my mom would start a *family revolution*.
Is that a way of saying that she finds that unacceptable?
3.She doesn't think twice about what she says.=She is reckless about what she says.
Do they mean the same thing?
4. He's a *he ll* of a singer.
So he's a good singer?
5. He has a *high threshold of receiving negative comments*.
Am I using threshold in the right way?
Thanks to you all out there. |

Thanks |

Hello! This is my first time trying to answer somebodies question, so I hope I can do so clearly. English is my first language, but I don't know many technical terms, so I will just try and explain the best I can. =)
A simple way to say that sentence would be to say
"He is very good at receiving negative comments"
However, there is another way which I think would be better. You could replace 'negative comments' with 'critisism'.
Then, you could say
"He takes critisism very well."
Both sentences mean the same thing. I hope I have helped! |

Thanks for being very helpful.
Sorry for trying to use difficult words sometimes. English is not my first language, but I try to use words in as many ways as possible. When I actually speak English, I try to be simple and precise. I only add variation when I am with fluent English speakers or native English speaker, for a slice of variety.
Please feel free to point out the mistakes. |

You're welcome!
Haha, that's okay. I think it's good that you are including variety when you speak english! It will make you seem very smart. Also, you'll be interesting to talk to. You might end up teaching some native english speakers new words! |
