I would like to start a discussion about the things that make people happy. Are those things universal or is it related the culture...

I know that allmost everyone is likely to say family and friends, peace and health etc. but I want to know about those little things that bring the smile on our faces

e.g In the mornings I walk to the busstop to wate for my bus. On springs and summers I hear the birds singing and everything is so peaceful. That makes me happy... Very Happy Very Happy
Or when my friend's littlebro learnt to say my name (well almost Very Happy) I was excited...

It's up to what phase you are in. when we are poor, money can make our day; when we have a lack of education, then schooling can make us happy; when we are trying to reach for some promotion, then a promotion can make us feel good....

For women, shopping can never fail to make our day Laughing and pretty clothes can always put us into a perfect mood Very Happy

I am happiest when I know I am appreciated. I'm too dependant on the reactions of others... and I always worry if someone doesn't want me there. Sad

I guess you won't take people's comments too seriously when you grow old.

When we are young, we always care too much about how people would think about us, but this situation will change as time gose by.

Maybe... I am in my teenage years so I guess my feelings are a bit messy. I always take comments too seriously, and it's not always a good thing.

Well, that just makes you a very normal teenager. No big deal. As you age, your skin will thicken, so comments made to you today that make you want to slit your wrists will later not bother you at all.

Oh yeah, things that make me happy (in no particular order):
Seasonal flowers actually blooming in season (around here, you don't really get a big change in seasons, so many flowers bloom year-round).
Orange and pink clouds at sunset after a rainy day.
When I actually succeed in cooking something and it doesn't suck.
When my baby daughter smiles at my goofy face. Very Happy Mr. Green Very Happy
