Each of them has a cream puff on a plate.

Which one can you say?
1 Let's eat a cream puff!
2 Let's eat cream puffs!

I am a little embarrassed with the easy question.

I think it's more natural just to say, "Let's eat". The cream puff is already implied since it's already on the plate.

If the food was not already on the plate. 2 Let's eat cream puffs would work.
