Hi,
I'm just wondering if it's better to use the plural form in the sentences below. My instinct says plural, but maybe a singular noun is not totally wrong.
How to make a pancake. (Title)
You can make a pancake at home by yourself.
Thank you

Pancakes often are fairly small. Since people usually make (and eat) more than one pancake at a time, I'd use the plural form. On the other hand, if the food being prepared is something like cake, salad, stew, soup, or a pasta dish, I'd use the singular form. |
