Please help me with this question.
If I am being asked "What is your favorite food?"
Should I answer, "My favortie food is grape" or "my favortie food are grapes"?
And another question related to grapes. I know what sour grapes mean. But can I use sour grape without the plural to describe a person?
Thanks a million! |

"My favorite food is the grape." is correct. However, you will hear many people say, my favorite food are grapes.
And yes, you could call someone a sour grape. It means that the person is not very pleasant.
Good Luck!!!! _________________ - Mike

Thanks for your reply.
I need more clarifications.
Do you happen to know what "the" is added when saying "My favorite food is the grape"? What about non-count foods, such as pizza. If I remember correctly, I don't need to add the "the", right. So I would just say "My favorite food is pizza."
And about sour grape. Besides to decribe a person is unpleasant. Can I say "You are such a sour grape" to describe the person's denial of the desirability of something because he can not have it? |
