Well the current economy is in favor of English, as well as the new electronic world. Personally I think it's a good idea to learn English because it's the main phonetic language, since a phonetic language will be better for the electronic world. It's harder to type characters than letters, so English would become more popular as the internet develops. It'll be better in the long run.

I think it necessary to learn English.
English is common communicate language in world.
If we want to get new foreign friends we always use English.
No matter how the English good or not, we have to practice and learn it.

I don't know how old you are, but decisions you make now may prove to exclude you from opportunities in the future. Let's say you decide that learning English isn't worth the effort, and later in life you miss out on a great chance for an interesting position making twice the salary. Just something to think about. :) Philo

Although some may not be thrilled with the situation, English is the language of international business; many people who wish to aim for the higher echelons of any career would be wise to learn enough English to at least get by in a conversation.

English is important, but i think it is not necessary yo leaern it for 15years.
it is too long to learn only a language.and i think English is jusy a tool for communicate, for most of the learner , they only need to use it freely.

PV Narasimha Rao,Ex-Prime Minister of India, was proficient in more than 14 languages, including foreign languages.

PB Sreenivos, play back singer from India, has excellent command on more than 15 languages. You know, he writes poetry of high calibre in all these languages.

My knowledge is poor. I quoted only two persons I knew.

Now, the point is:
Learning a new language, be it English or Chinese or any other language for that matter, should be a matter of pride. Incidentally, English may be needed in the present 'global village' scenario.

When one feels the compulsion in learning a new language, one cannot enjoy the process. When the same is taken up as a challenge, I think, one surely loves to learn, many other languages too..

Is it necessary for all us to learn English?

The answer is No.

If you just live in the countries or communities which you don't have any chance to communicate with English speakers, you don't have to learn English.

But the question is :Are you sure that you never communicate with English speakers in your lifetime?Obviously you are not sure if you have chances to communicate with English speakers. So it is better for you to master other languages, once you meet English speakers ,you can understand what they say.

Why do most of us learn English?

First ,English is second largest -speaking language in the world following Mandarin,English is many countries ' official language.

Second,English is most important language in international communication.

Third, through English, you can read ,listen and watch the most advanced magizines, newspaper, radio and TV.So the mastery of English will improve your knowledge and make your life easier.

But learning English is a hard work for most of us except for a few talents,I had stopped learning English twice, one year ago I began learning English again, this time I realy want to make it.But sometimes I feel boring to learn,so mastering English is not easy thing to do,you must spend a lot of time on it ,you have to have willpower,if not,you will fall short.

Good luck -everyone who hopes to master English!
