In China, we use �吃了吗?干吗去?� or something like that to greet each other. after I learned English , I know some greeting words, for example," Hi, how do you do? how are you doing? what's up? "and so on.
i knew a jock, that is, a foreigner said how do you do to a chinese boy. he replayed how are you? The he was aware of his mistake, and shouted to the foreigner i am a japanese, not Chinese. |

I don't think a greeting can afect, because misunderstandings can resolve easy so I think when two cultures meet is good to respect each others and try to understand each other . |

ya i agree with u in this point but for english learners there is a period named interlanguage. they will use chinglish sometimes. so at this time, cultrue affects the way of greeting. then if english learner notice this, it can make their english sound native.  |
