Hello, teachers.
Which sentence is not natural or incorrect when you paraphrase "A man is known by his company." ?
1 You can see someone's personality by looking at his friends.
2 Someone's friends tell us his personality.
3 A man's personality is known through his company.
4 A man's personality is known through looking at his friends.
5 A man's personality can be seen by his company.
Thank you in advance!

3 A man's personality is known through his company. By this sentence you can mean 'through his business' instead of 'through friends or associates'. |

Thank you so much, pinenut-san!!
Please let me confirm one thing.
Can "through doing something" always be used in place of "by doing something"?
