|
|
Person A: "I don't think that will happen sometime soon."
Person B agrees with Person A. So he says, "Yeah, I think so."
Does this make any sense?
I told my friend (who lives in Korea) that he could say "neither do I.", "I
don't either." or "I agree.", but not "I think so."
Am I right?
Here's another question;
A: Do you think you can't lose weight?
B: Yes, I think so. (I think I can't lose weigt. <- Shouldn't this be "I don't think I can lose weight"? )
Please point it out if nobody talks like that. |

Your first question . . .

Not really. It's a strange way of respoding. I like your suggestions much better: "neither do I.", "I don't either." or "I agree."
Your second question . . .
A: Do you think you can't lose weight?
B: Yes, I think so. (I think I can't lose weigt. <- Shouldn't this be "I don't think I can lose weight"? )
"Yes, I think so" is not really wrong, but I would agree that "I think I can't lose weight" is a much better response.
Good Luck!!!! _________________ - Mike
