|
|
Emily Bronte was Jane Austen's sister who was born in 1818 and died in 1848. Her mother was dead on early years and she was educated by her father. She never got married in her short life. Her disposition was introversion, sensitive and adamant. I knew her after reading a famous book called Wuthering Heights and this was her only one novel. From her vivid storytelling, we can feel the passionate love between Catherine and Heathcliff. This novel also showed Emily Brontes detest to hypocritical rank concept and looked forward to freedom and the love with remain faithful until death. _________________ I'm a happy girl, in a happy world! ^_^ |

Hey, as far as I know, Emily Bronte was Charlotte Bronte's sister, not Jane Austen's. She 's the author of Wuthering heights, right? _________________ Where there's a will. there's a way. |

I'm sorry, but I believe you're wrong. Jane Austen has no famous relative.... She and Emily Brnte were not sisters.
Wuthering Heights was the first book in English that I read. I was 16 by that time, and I remember enjoying it a lot. In fact, Bronte, as Jane Austen, shows a great despise for things like rank and connexions (the "x" is no mistake, I'm just writing it the way it's written in Austen's books !).
Although Heathcliff is a gypsy (something considered horrible by the eugenic society of the 18th century), lady Catherine simply fell in love with him; It was a so strong love that it would surpass the eternity of this life... It was one of my favourite books when I was a teen.

Try a simplified version at first! You see, only after reading the book through I realised it was a simplified version ... I felt a little bit disappointed, by I let it go.... _________________ Stormy Weather. |
