Missdaredevil,

Hi.

A "low-key" social event is something
that is maybe kind of quiet or calm.
Just people talking and mingling.
No music or entertainment.

If you were to use it in a sentence, you'd probably say
something like:

"I went to a party last night, but it was really low-key".

And a crank-call is when someone is calling another person
on the phone (playing a joke) and doing something like
hanging up when the person answers.
Or maybe they just laugh or breath heavy into the phone
when the other person answers. Something like that.
Just calling on the phone to play a joke on them.

I hope that helps Smile
