Is "not unless" same as "unless" in this sentence?

Interesting. I think these mean the opposite.

I ask you Are you going?

You say Not unless you are also going, meaning that you will not go if I do not go.

If you answer Unless you are also going, I would understand that to mean that you WOULD go if I DIDN'T go.
