Which of the two (opposite/opposition) is acceptable in the following sentences? or both?--------- the folloowing ---------
You might think that a baseball would not travel as far on a humid day due to the moisture in the air - but the (opposite/opposition) is true. |

| I don't know explain why, but I would say "opposite". For "opposite" is an adjective, and I would understand this sentence like this: "the opposite [thought] is true"; |
