Could you tell me which sentence is correct?
- What we need 'ARE' to stick to the same field and to treat our friends best we can.
OR
- What we need 'IS' to stick to the same field and to treat our friends best we can.
Thanks. _________________ YUKIKO |

The second one is correct. If I remember my high-school grammar correctly, when two coordinating clauses are joined by 'and', the verb is singular. |

Also, the subject of the verb "be" is "What we need," and this can be rewritten as "The thing [singular] that we need IS to..." |
