What is the difference in meaning or nuance between #1 and #2 for the blank below?
1. are we going to do
2. will we do
For a minute or two the room was quiet. At last Mrs White said, Our son! Dead! Were never going to see him again. What ( ) without him?

The difference between 'will' and 'going to' is discussed in another post here. To save you the trouble of scrolling (beacause I have just done it), I will give you the link :

As for your question, practically both would mean the same. There is a nuance though. 'going to do' is immediate future and 'will do' is long term future. |
