This sentence can be written: "The soldier cannot get over the three-metre wall." |

'three metre wall' is a compound word, and as per word formation rules, the modifiers in a compound word are singular. ('toothbrush' and not 'teethbrush', 'a two week course' and not 'a two weeks course', and so on). |
