A certain rhinocero species was hunted nearly to extincition.
A certain rhinocero species has been hunted nearly to extincition.
Are they OK?
What is difference between " was hunted " and " had been hunted"?
Thank you |

"A certain rhinocero species was hunted nearly to extincition."
Note your spelling errors. This should be:
"A certain species of rhinoceros was hunted nearly to extinction."
You can use either "was hunted" or "has been hunted," but "has been hunted" sounds better.
"What is difference between " was hunted " and " had been hunted"? "
"Was hunted" means it happened in the past. "Had been hunted" means that it happened farther back in time than some other event. |

One more thing: 'has been hunted' indicates it is fresh news or a recent happening. 'was hunted' can mean anything: it is fresh news or it happened recently/long back. |
