1. Rather than tell a lie, I prefer to tell the truth.
2. Rather than telling a lie, I prefer to tell the truth.
3. Rahter than invent a new vocabulary for webblog, we use existing vocabulary for that.
Tell me whether these three sentences are gramatically right or not.
And what's the differece between #1 and #2? |

I think for parallelism, you want to have sentence 1 rather than sentence 2. Sentence 2 would have to be re-written, "Rather than telling a lie, I prefer telling the truth."
Sentence 3 needs a little tinkering. Try:
"Rather than invent a new vocabulary for weblogs, we use the existing vocabulary." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
