|
|
Could you tell me how to use the phrase, 'A as well as B'?
Especially, is it necessary to make the info of A and B parallel?
For instance, which sentence below is correct?
- When an indivisual wants to step up his/her career, he/she usually tries to find a better job from the outside of a company as well as THE INSIDE.
or
........ as well as FROM THE INSIDE.
Thank you. _________________ YUKIKO |

When an indivisual wants to step up his/her career, he/she usually tries to find a better job from the outside of a company as well as THE INSIDE.
or
........ as well as FROM THE INSIDE.
Both sentences are correct. In the first sentence, "as well as" meaning "and" joins two noun phrases: "the outside of a company" and "the inside". In the second sentence, "as well as" meaning "and" joins two prepositional phrases: "from the outside of a company" and "from the inside". It depends what you want to emphasize. _________________ Mary W. Ng
