I found the expression (1) in The Japan Times as a headline.
(1) Skeptics abound that alliance is worth the effort.
Context-wise it is paraohrased into (2).
(2) Skeptics abound who doubt that alliance is worth the effort.
Is the expression (1) acceptable or Japanese English? _________________ Hiromichi |

Yes, it's OK English.
It just means there are lots of them. |
