Hello, teachers.

What the difference between "sustain" and "maintain"?
My dictionary says "sustain" means "to make something continue without
becoming less." and "maintain" means "to make something continue at the same level, standard, etc."
Then, do the two words have strictly same meaning?
If not, would you show me some examples in which these words are not
exchageable?

Thank you in advance,
Junkomama

they can be interchangeable using thies guidlines.
but in this case:
Quote:
"I will maintain the car." or "I will keep the car maintained."
refers to maintence or repair, so it cannot be interchangable with sustain, in a conversation.
