Hello,
Can we say "There are dogs jumping around in a circus ring."?
Should it be "the circus ring" since, presumably, the speaker knows which "ring" he/she is talking about?

If there is an actual circus and circus ring, then use "the." If it is metaphorical or just descriptive, as I suspect it is here, use "a." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
