Dear Teachers,
1. Our class is having a field trip on Friday.
- field trip means practical trip, right?
2. Is there a library (above / over) the supermarket?
- above and over are the same meaning here, right?
3. Whenever hes drunk its like hes a different person. And he often gives her a black eye.
- he often gives her a black eye means he often gets mad at her, right?
Thanks a lot to Teachers,

1. In the U.S., a field trip is a short trip taken by a class for educational purposes. Usually a field trip lasts less than a day. The class, ordinarily in grades 2 through 6, loads into school buses and goes to the natural history museum for a guided tour, for example. I still remember a field trip to Casa De Adobe when I was in third grade in Los Angeles, and we were studying the history of California. There were one or two field trips per year in my day.
2. Yes.
3. No, it means he punches her in the face, maybe many times, producing a bad bruise around the eye, commonly called a black eye. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
