On July 4, Amazon spammed its customers with advertisement of Norman Finkelstein's virulently anti-Semitic book, Image and Reality of the Israeli-Palestine Conflict. On May 30, Amazon similarly advertised Beyond Chutzpah: on the Misuse of Anti-Semitism and the Abuse of History. I have never received any other ad from Amazon.

On April 4, in an unprecedented move, Amazon deleted all reviews of Obadiah Shoher's Samson Blinded: A Machiavellian Perspective on the Middle East Conflict. A few days later, Amazon forced its subsidiary Booksurge to terminate publishing contract with Shoher whose book is now available. Google earlier banned advertising of the Samson Blinded for "unacceptable content." Shoher, indeed, is pro-Israeli, yet realistic and critical of Israeli policies.

Obadiah Shoher, an anonymous politician, abandons myths and moralizing in favor of realpolitik. He argues for raw efficiency of antiterrorist operations and shedding liberal idealism. Shoher asks inconvenient questions and gives honest answers. Amazon does not like that. Anti-Semitic lampoons by Norman Finkelstein are more to Amazon's taste.

Wow, really?
That's ridiculous.

And NOT just because I'm pro-Israel. Even if the book had been pro-Israel, it would've still been wrong. It's not Amazon's business in the LEAST. They're supposed to sell us stuff, and that's it. They should stay the heck away from our political views, that's all I can say. (Especially when the views are so hateful and negative. Even if they were hateful of Palestinians, I'd still say that it's not a good thing to have on a website).

Not buying from them anymore, THAT's for sure.

Ridiculous.

A dumb marketing strategy too. What could they be thinking??

Wait... What's your source?
Because there's a message on Amazon about how they're NOT anti-Semetic, and false internet rumours have been spread about them.

Hm.

I didn't recieve any ad of this book. I do occationally recieve various ads from Amazon. I think they send ads according to customer's buying pattern and you might have shown interests on this subject on their website by buying or rating books.

This is spam guys - she only has 1 post and this same thread has been created on hundreds of other messageboards. Looks like a marketing campaign to get people to look into this 'controversial' book and to generate interest

Yeah, I've gotta agree. I searched, and all the posts on all the world's message boards about this were the exact same-- grammar mistakes and all.
Plus, Amazon has something on it's website saying it's fake.
