Dear Teachers,

1. A nice adult chart with your daughter will also help you to get things straight with her.
- to get things straight with her means to make things clear with her, right?

2. Some Teachers says that the word gigolo is not common in the US and the UK nowadays, so what word is the same meaning as this word and common nowadays?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd

1. When you "get things straight" or "set things straight" with someone, you talk about them and reach an understanding and/or give the important information. So "get things clear" would be pretty much the same.

2. A gigolo is a fellow who makes his living by being the boyfriend / escort of one or more women. The women pay all the bills in return for his attentions.

I don't know whether it is more common now than before -- meaning what? People don't label such men as gigolos now? Now they're players, ballers? Or fewer men are employed as gigolos now than before? That doesn't seem likely.
