Can a new concept be "under pursuit" or is it better to say it's "pursued"? Can that concept "take a hypothesis" or "hypothesize" something?
So confused! |

.
I really need more context. Under pursuit sound OK to me here, but a 'concept hypothesizing' sounds very redundant in any form.

I can't tell what concept is being discussed, but the sentence seems to be saying, "This concept / idea, which is being followed / discussed more in the U.S. than anywhere else, starts with the supposition that . . . ."
So, yes, you could say that the concept is being pursued. It probably would be all right to say that the concept hypothesizes this or that, or that the people who are studying it hypothesize this or that.
In science, a hypothesis is a testable supposition that is derived from a theory. The outcome of the experiment or observational study that tests the hypothesis should either support or not support the theory / should either help confirm or disconfirm the theory. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

Thanks very much.
So "under persuit" in this case is less appropriate?
Thanks |
