Hello,
I was watching Martha show and there something I couldn't understand.
--------------
Martha ask her warm-up guy to deliver Chrismas present to David letterman. David's assistant says the following.
"David is not availabe, he is busy
He is at otb with regis, but we prepared something for you"
I wonder what "he is at otb with regis" means here.
Does it mean he is on the broadcast with the person named regis? |

"He's at off-track betting with Regis Philbin."
Off-track betting is betting on horses at somewhere other than the race track.
Regis Philbin is a longtime talk show host and host of "America's Got Talent" and "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?".
Of course, David Letterman is also a talk show host. So these two hosts supposedly spend their free time gambling together -- a silly thought. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
