Japan/China/Korea-Joint declaration should lead to the political stability in eastern Asia :

Three nation summit among Japan,China and South Korea was held in Bali island of Indonesia on 7th. Leaders of three nation signed "the joint declaration to accelarate the cooperation amont these three nation,aiming at cooperation in Asia in future.

The summit among Japan,China and South Korea was started in November,1999 at the time of ASEAN plus 3 nation summit. It was proposed by then Japanese primeminister Koizo Koizumi. Since then it has been held everyyear besides ASEAN plus 3 nation summit. But joint declaration was held for the first time this year.

Joint declaration proposes the policy to fortify the cooperation in future in the wide field such as economy,trade,investment,finance,transportation,tourism,politics,security, culture, information technology, science and environmental protection.

This is the fruit of the deep discussion,which has been done by ministers of three nation except for summit. New international agreement among eastern asian major three nation is itself significant for seculity and development of this region.

In the joint declaration, the nuclear weapon issue of North Korea is reconfirmed to be solved peacefully through talks with Pyongyang and it is agreed to take political,diplomatic and administrative measures including effective trade control in order to prevent from proliferation of mass destruction weapon.

If other asian countries do effective trade control, it will be a huge pressure on North Korea. And the abduction by North Korea was mentioned in the declaration.

It is siginificant that three nation agreed about fortifying cooperation for Nuclea weapon issure of North Korea. Because a bit different stance was observed between Japan which put importance on "pressure" and Korea-China which insist "talks". This joint declaration will be helpful for next six nation talks.

Also as for the economical issues, it propose the active policy to pursue the more tight economical cooperation among three countries in future at the right time,based on the result of cooperated reserch by FTA.

For Japanese diplomatic policy, the joint declaration means that it starts stepping into Asian diplomacy , based on the alliance between Japan and US. In the case, it is important to show its diplomatic independency, putting greater importance on its relatinship to US.

Although Japan-China relationship is basically good, China government was repelled by Mr.Koizumi's worship at Yasukuni Shirine and he has not been able to visit to China since then. It also should be resolved earlily that China had new victims due to the explosion of abandoned weapon in WWII.

Japan-Korea relationship has been in a friendly mood since the cosponsorship of Worldcup soccoer game last year. But it is in fact that anti-Japan sentiment sometimes explodes at the time such as Japanese History text book issue.

These issues to be tied to the past should be overcome with the operation leading to the future. Japan naturally make utmost efforts to resolve them.

Japan/China/Korea definitely declared that they are convinced that the fortified cooperation will contribute to the realization of peace,stabilization and prosperity of entire eastern asia. It depends on the future efforts of these three countries whether they will be able to cut their way.
