Hello,
Is the use of semi-colon in the following sentence appropriate?
"We have redesigned the product to make it even easier to operate; in particular, the on-screen commands lead the user through every step."
Does it depend on the writer's style? Would it be better stylistically to use a full stop instead?
Thank you,

.
To a certain extent, it is the writer's choice. I would probably choose a colon. A full stop would be inappropriate, I think; the two statements are too closely related.
