Hello,

Does "since" work here? Is there any other conjunctions I can use?

"Since the new film's reclusive director does not give interviews, he is happy to let his movie speak for itself."

For me, "since" here is a little bit odd. The fact that the director does not give interviews isn't really a reason for him to be happy to let the movie to speak for itself, is it?

What about:

"The new film's reclusive director does not give interviews and is happy to let his movie speak for itself."

I agree that it is logically odd. The author may not have been paying attention. Although might work, but I like your version better.
