Dear Teachers,
1. A: Can you measure me? B: Sure. Youre a 36. This one is the right size.
- Why dont we say your size is 36 instead of Youre a 36?
2. Is understood? means do you understand? or You got it? or you get that??
Thanks a lot to Teachers,

1. I'm not sure why a clothing salesperson says, "You're a 36" or "You look like a medium," etc., but they mean the same as "Your size is 36" or "You look like you wear medium size."
2. If you say, "Understood?" to someone, it is short for, "Is that understood [by you]?" and is the same as, "Do you understand?"
If you understand something and say, "Understood," you are using shorthand for "That is understood [by me]," meaning the same as "I understand." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
