The creativity progress has always been accepted as the source of all important work in the arts. But we should not think that creativity plays a role only in the arts. Scientific discoveries begin with imagining the world to look different from the way of ordering people to see it. And this is what creativity is all about imagining the world in an absolutely new way.
The bold 'this is what creativity is all about imagining the world in an absolutely new way.' is correct?
If so, what does it mean?

CP! I appriciate your help.
I still have a question about the above quote.
'This is what creativity is all about -- imaging the world in an absolutely new way.' means 'Imaging the world in an absolutely new way is creativity itself.'?
Thanks. |

Hi Chan-Seung Lee,
Might I interject. CP's earlier response was on the nose. The paragraph is a beautiful one. I might edit it like so:
The creative process has always been accepted as the source of inspiration for all important works of art. But we should not think that creativity plays a role only in the arts. Scientific discovery begins with imagining the world as being different from the way other people see it. And this is what creativity is all about -- imagining the world in an absolutely new way.
The answer to your question is yes. Imagining the world in an absolutely new way is creativity itself (part of the creative process).

I agree with Lotus that imagining the world in a new way is part of the creative process, but it is not all of the creative process.
If Van Gogh had fully realized his wonderful paintings only in his imagination, but had never picked up a brush to turn his imaginings into works of art, he would have accomplished very little.
To create something is to make something, whether a painting or a screenplay or a new type of business. If the creation stops with the creator's mental images, not much has been created, and really only one person even enjoys or knows about it. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
