Dear Teachers,

1. I feel so behind from my friends and have been really depressed about it lately.

- "feel so behind" means "feel so sad", right?

2. In your case, it may have gone to extremes. No one feels worthy of you.

- "No one feels worthy of you" means "No one feels that you're worthy", right?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd

1. "I feel so behind from my friends and have been really depressed about it lately." I've never heard the expression, and it doesn't suggest anything to me, so I don't know the answer.

2. "In your case, it may have gone to extremes. No one feels worthy of you." It doesn't mean that no one feels that you are worthy. It means that no one feels that he or she is worthy of you. No one feels good enough to deserve you.

With 1, if you're behind it means you're not progressingly quickly enough with something, or that there are things you should have done already in your schedule. If you're 'behind with your rent' then there are outstanding rent payments you should have made already. If you're 'behind in class' then you're still studying things you should have studied earlier, and you have to catch up to where you should be.

I'm guessing 'I feel so behind from my friends' means that the person's friends are making better progress, so the person isn't doing the same things as them and feels left behind. This could be in school (the friends learning new things while the person is still doing older stuff) or even in life - if the friends are all starting families or developing their careers, the person could feel 'behind' if their life isn't progressing as well. More context would help us to understand it, really.
