The residence of Los Angeles participate in the local parade once a year.
The residence in Los Angeles participate at the local parade once a year.
Are both sentences gramatically correct? Do both have the same meaning?

Residence is a place to live; residents reside / live in a particular place. You want to say:
"The residents of Los Angeles participate in [not at] the local parade once a year." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
