Quote:
A:What should you do before using your new Chambr Bank card?
B:Protect yourself from authorization.

I'd like to know if the above quote make sense. If it's right, what does 'Protect yourself from authorization.' mean?
Especially, I'd like to know the meaning of 'authorization' in the quote.
(As far as I know, I think 'authorization' means 'a permit'.)

Thanks.

You are correct in the meaning of the word 'authorization' meaning 'a permit.' In this case, the meaning is 'permission' which is essentially the same.

The second part of the quote does not make sense. What it should say is: "Protect yourself by authorizing your card" or "Authorize your card to protect yourself."

Alternately, the author of the sentence may mean "Protect yourself from mis-authorization." Mis-authorization means to falsely authorize (to someone who should not be authorized).

I hope this is some help.

Damon
