I like this saying, It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.
And there is another one It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Which one is the original? Thanks.

Hi Swim4life,

I like this version most - although I don't know if it's the original or the most common.

"It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all."

how true

If you stick the never betwen the to and have you will have split your infinitive.
Alfred, Lord Tennyson's original quote is:I hold it true, whatever befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
