Hi, everyone!
I'd like to ask you how to use the plural form of "fruit".
Which form do you normally use in the sentence below?
You should eat a lot of (fruit/ fruits) and vegetables.
Thank you!

| It can be either - fruit tends to be used in the uncountable sense ('I eat a lot of fruit these days'), while fruits is usually used when talking about whole apples, bananas, pears etc., or when talking about more than one type of fruit ('many different fruits go into a fruit salad'). This isn't a definite rule though, and people often use fruit in place of fruits. |
