| Is it true that "notwithstanding" is an old word? Is it used in papers nowadays? |

The Oxford English Dictionary gives an instance of "notwitstanding" as far back as 1380, so it is pretty old. But it is still used all the time, and sometimes it is the only word that will do, its age and length notwithstanding. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb
