I got this sentence from "interview with Dave":
Honestly, not a day goes by when I don't think, "Wow! I'm really fortunate to be doing this."
And I got this sentence from a song:
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you.
Why do people use "when" in the first sentence, but "that" in the second sentence? both are okay? |

You could put "that" into the first sentence instead of "when" and be right.
I think both are OK most of the time, but "that" is more commonly heard than "when." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

You can use either when or that. The only difference is you can omit that, as in Not a day goes by I don't think of you.
