Dear Teachers,

1. I hope it didnt drive you bonkers in too many ways.
- drive you bonkers means drive you crazy, right? And is this common?

2. My fianc has never been big on flowers or candle lit dinners.
- big here means generous, right?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd

1. Yes, that's what it means, and yes, it's commonly understood that way. I don't think "bonkers" is used any other way. You can also say "drive you / make you cuckoo / nuts," and "drive you up the wall" is pretty similar, as well.

2. No, not "generous." It means "fond of" or "in favor of" or "very good at." The speaker's husband is not a person who is likely to suggest or enjoy having a candle-lit dinner or a romantic walk on the beach.
