I know a man who has 1 billion dollars. He is unhappy.
He is not married because he thinks they are all after his money.
He can buy anything he wants and so there is no pleasure in dreaming about having something special.
I I had one thousandth of his money, I would live happily for the rest of my life.

Many rich people eat tranquilizers.
Man is difficult to satisfy and it takes a set of circumtances to make him happy, which is again volatile.
I think the poor man sleeps better.

Money is lubrication for life.

Happiness comes from contentment, acceptance, and letting go of fear - which is in the mind and has nothing to do with money.

I have known many VERY wealthy people and most of them were miserable. Having everything you ever want is like a drug, it only hides what's in your mind and keeps you from knowing your discontent. Most people with money's largest fear is that they will lose their money.

Those that have nothing and are happy, they are truly happy.

An old proverb:

Money is not so good as lack of money is bad.

I remember this joke:

The beggar is not far behind the billionaire; the billionaire is working for his second billion, and the beggar is working for his first one.

I think man is inherently unhappy Sad , which is why he has travelled a looooooong way from the cave, in search of happiness. It might remain a wild goose chase, hehe.

My interpretation of this phrase:

1. The lack of money is bad= Not having money is bad
2. Money is not so good as not having money= Having money is even worse than not having money.

I don't agree to this. With money, you can make your girl happy.

Having money is good. Say, 5 on a scale of 1-10.

But not having money is bad. Say, 8 on a scale of 1-10.

So having money (5) is not so good as not having money ( 8 ) is bad.
