Does the captioned word have any special meaning?

It's not like I'm ready to show her my sock drawer.

Hello hiromichi - Ugh! Garfield again!

Well, here goes....

Most peoples' sock (and underwear) drawers are pretty much a jumble.

Unless you are a really neat and careful person (which Jon doesn't seem to be), it's rather easy to mess things up while looking for a certain colored pair, for example.

So.....under the best of circumstances, you probably wouldn't want someone you don't know very well looking in your sock drawer....and really not if it's a mess and shows that you are a "slob" to your new girlfriend.

Phew!! Garfield....much ado about nothing.

Keep plugging.....Philo

Philo Kevetch, Thank you. The meaning was as I guessed.

Hiromichi,

Switch from "Garfield" to "Calvin and Hobbes" before it's too late!

CP, Thank you for your advice. I just now subscribed to Calvin and Hobbes via email.

CP - I'll second that!

hiromichi - "Frank and Ernest" would be a much better comic strip to learn English and access humor. You're spinning your wheels with "Garfield" (IMHO).

However, that being said....again, I admire your effort. Philo

Philo Kevetch, With high esteem for your opinion I registered a web site of Frank and Ernest among my favorites. Thank you.
