Hi there!!!
Well, I'm having some problems finding out the best phrasal verb or expression to this situation: let's say that I have to take 1 pill every night, after dinner. I didn't take it last nite, but it doesn't mean I should take 2 pills today to "even" - because it would harm my body.
SO... What can I say to fill this gap: "I shouldn't ____ my fault last night by taking two pills today."?
In my country we use (in a literal traduction) the word "compensate"... but I feel this's not quite right!!

Hope you guys undestand what I mean... (although I know this isn't clear enough... but it was the best i could do! heheh)

Thank you all!
xx

Hi Christie,

Try:

I shouldn't make up for (taking one pill) last night by taking two pills today.

I shouldn't try to compensate for taking one pill last night by taking two pills today.

Both are equally good sentences. Your sense of the word compensate is correct.
