Dear Teachers,

1. Imagine your girlfriend not knowing about this and then finding out at some point later on down the track.
- What does down the track mean here?

2. I know it seems hard to fess up and tell her what happened, but its better off coming from your mouth.
- Ive checked some dictionaries, but couldnt find the meaning of fess up. What does fess up mean here?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd

1. A train runs on a track. Anything down the track from where the train is now is in the distance, so it is also in the future, because the train is not there yet. Figuratively, what is coming in the future is down the track from right now.

2. To fess up is to confess. It's just a short, colloquial version of the proper word, confess.

"All right, children, who ate the cookies? Fess up."
